More stuff!

Here is the glider and gliding ottoman Derek and I bought yesterday. The fabric will be slightly more beige and the wood will match our crib and other furniture.

We found a crib!

Here are some pictures of the crib and changing table Derek and I ordered yesterday.  Obviously, the bedding is not ours....

Cribs and More!

Today Derek and I are going to Babies R Us to at least look at (and maybe buy) some of the furniture for the nursery that we are not going to register for....like the crib, changing table, glider, etc.  I am really excited!  Of course I won't make Derek put any of it together yet, but it will be nice just to have it ordered and then at the house.

Only 10 more days until the ultrasound and I can't wait!  I went to the doctor on Wednesday for just a regular check-up.  When she used the Doppler to find the baby's heartbeat, she kept having to move it around to follow the baby.  She said, "Wow!  This baby moves A LOT!"  Well, the baby must be somewhat like me, cause I sure can't sit still anywhere.

Tuesday is the official halfway point of the pregnancy....20 weeks!

The First Kick!

On Friday (while at work in the O.R.), I got the first kick from the baby!  It was very strange, and by the time I figured out what happened, it had long been over.  I've been trying to pay close attention the last couple of days to see if I can feel another one, but no luck so far!  I've felt the baby move around and flip-flop for the last couple of weeks every day, so I knew a kick was probably on its way!  Besides that, nothing much new is going on.  I am getting a little bigger every week and now have had LOTS of people rubbing on my belly.  When it's my family or close friends, it doesn't bother me at all, but random nurses at work -- that's a little strange!  I've gone through a major growth spurt in the past 3 weeks!  More pictures to come soon....the picture above is an 18 week-old fetus...I will be 18 weeks on Tuesday!

Wow, I think I really look pregnant now....

Almost 16 weeks....still not convinced there's only one in there....
The first picture is the baby compared to a quarter....the smallest one is 12 weeks, the top one is 16 weeks (me), and the biggest one is 20 weeks

Place your bets!

I went to the doctor yesterday and everything was great. I got to hear the baby's heart beat again, which is always awesome. My blood pressure was actually not too bad this time (especially compared to last time), so that made me feel a lot better. I closed my eyes when I got on the scale...there's no law that says I have to know how big I am getting, right? I figure if I am gaining too much weight, the nurses will tell me. The most exciting part of the appointment was that I got to schedule my ultrasound (the one that tells me if it's a boy or girl). The big day is January 29th. I know it will seem like FOREVER until then! So, is it gonna be a boy or a girl???

Relief!

I went to the chiropractor for the first time on Monday afternoon and got "adjusted."  It was a little nerve-wracking because I have never been to one before, and didn't want him to pop my back and then I have a spinal cord injury or something....haha.  But the guy I am going to is GREAT and specializes in pregnant women, so I was very comfortable with him.  He told me on Monday that I have 4 ribs that are shifting positions enough to press on a nerve, causing lots of pain.  I didn't feel any pain at all until Tuesday night when I sat on the bleachers at Derek's basketball game for 4 hours, so that is a lot of improvement!  Usually my back hurts all of the time.  I went back again yesterday and got adjusted again, which helped even more!  I am going back again next week and then maybe once after that, and hopefully the pain will stay away.  I'll probably still go to get adjusted once a month or so, but that's not too bad.   This chiropractic office also has a massage therapist on site with a special pregnancy table that I'm really excited about for later.  I can't believe Derek and I are going home tomorrow!  Hopefully my back will cooperate for a few days....
